The luck of the draw...
One of the major moments of my (personal) and professional life was getting to be the PhD student, colleague, and friend of the late Hillel J. Einhorn. Hardly a day has gone by since Hilly died in 1987 that I have not had some thoughts asssociated with him.
The piece below describes how he started the Center for Decision Research at the University of Chicago.
