Bronwen Forbay

Bronwen Forbay completed her B. Mus (Operatic performance) with distinction at the University of Natal (Durban) in 1998. She has continued her vocal studies with her teacher Colleen Philip and is also studying Italian this year. She performed the role of Siebel in Opera Africa's Faust in Zululand (1997), for NAM Delegates (1998) and at the Playhouse Opera (1999). She performed the role of "Princess Margaret" in the touring performing arts board's production of The Student Prince at the Playhouse Opera (1998) and the Pretoria State Theatre (1999). She has performed regularly as a soloist with the KZNPO and recently sang in the National Youth Concerto Festival. Bronwen has won many awards at many local eistedfodds and has recently been awarded a Fullbright scholarship for postgraduate studies in Opera in the USA. Recent engagements include the performance of Mendelsohn's Hymns of Praise with the KZNPO at the Commonwealth summit at the ICC Durban in November 1999. She also has performed on several other occasions like the Rothman's July Designer Showcase 1999 and in the sell-out hit show "Mercury Rising" in 1999.
