The soprano Gurdeep Stephens, with Indian and
British roots, is from Vancouver, Canada. She
has studied with inspiring teachers including
Judy Maas, Dick Jones, Emma Kirkby and Evelyn
Tubb. Gurdeep loves exploring different music
from early to contemporary.
Gurdeep began singing professionally in Spain,
where she performed at diverse places
including Tossa de Mar, Sala Zeleste, and Palau
Dalmases. On July 8, 1999 Gurdeep released her
first CD with Michael Greenacre, entitled
you,
woman, which has been played on the radio in
3 continents.
In December 1999, Gurdeep recorded The
Millennium Song in seven languages and a video clip.
This song has had worldwide TV and radio
coverage. Gurdeep is currently recording a CD
of her grandfather Rupert Stephens’ songs in
praise of the Earth.
