Research Professor at the IVIE and Professor of
Economics at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra. Undergraduate studies
in Economics and Management at the Univesitat de València
(1987). National Prize of Undergraduate Studies in Economics (highest
national GPA, 1988). Ph. D. in Economics (Harvard University), 1993.
Director of the Department of Economics and Business at the Universitat
Pompeu Fabra. Consultant for the OECD, the Interamerican Development
Bank and the World Bank. Eleven books and more than 90 publications
in different journal as American Economic Review,
Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of Business and Economic
Statistics, the Economic Journal, European Economic Review, Journal
of Development Economics, Economics Letters, Applied Psychology,
Journal of Economic Growth, International Journal of Industrial
Organization, European Journal of Education and thel International
Journal of Transport Economics among others.

(1987). Premio extraordinario de licenciatura (Universitat de València)
y Primer Premio Nacional Fin de Carrera (1988). Doctor en Economía
por la Universidad de Harvard (1993). En la actualidad es director
del Departamento de Economía de la Universitat Pompeu Fabra. Consultor
del Banco Mundial, de la OCDE y del Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo.
Entre sus publicaciones se cuentan once libros y más de 90 artículos
científicos en diversas revistas como el American Economic Review,
Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of Business and Economic
Statistics, Economic Journal, European Economic Review, Journal
of Development Economics, Economics Letters, Applied Psychology,
Journal of Economic Growth, International Journal of Industrial
